Alpha Kappa Psi Alumni

A Note from the New VP Alumni Relations, Monica Truax

        Greetings Alumni,

First of all, I hope you had a wonderful summer!  Now that it's fall again, the Theta Chapter is back to business at OSU. This term we are holding several professional and social events on campus and in the community.  Our Professional Chair Mia Isaacson has already planned events with EcoCafe Haiti and Moss Adams and Social Chair Brent Soffey is planning a paintball tournament in Albany!

As you probably remember, the first two weeks if the term are filled with Rush events which include informational booths, resume workshops, free food and capture the flag! This year these weeks are also filled with planning the Annual Creating Career Confidence (C3) Symposium.

I am writing you this email to inform you of opportunities to get involved with the chapter and to attend our invents planned specifically to meet you!

1. We are planning an Alumni Event with the Kappa Chapter at the Bridgeport Brewery in Portland, OR on October 16th.  Afterward, we will probably be attending a pre-season Blazer Game.  Time is TBA, but please make sure to MARK YOUR CALENDAR!  An email with more information will follow soon.

2. C3 will be held on October 15 from 11 - 3 pm in the MU Ballroom.  If you would like to participate as a networker or speaker or have questions, please contact me.

3.  Stay up-to-date with the chapter on our facebook page! Alpha Kappa Psi - Theta.

4. Write us an email to share with the chapter and let us know how you're doing or send us information about possible job opening/ intership opportunities.

As always, feel free to contact me with ideas, questions, or just for fun! I look forward to strengthening the relationship between student and alumni members throughout the next year.

In U and I...

There are an unlimited number of possibilities for Theta alumni to be involved with our chapter.  Here are a few ways I will suggest:

-          Be a guest speaker: Tell us about your company, your field of expertise, your trials and triumphs in the business world, and give us advice.

o   We are eager to learn from you!

-          Give us suggestions for alumni events: Family-oriented? Dinner and drinks? Locations? What events would you like to attend?

o   Alumni events are designed for collegiate members and alumni to meet and network.  How can we make them convenient for you?

-          Tell us about job/ internship opportunities: Does someone you know need a position filled?  Let us know!

-          Come to chapter, send us a letter, tell us who you are and what you are up to: Keep the brotherhood strong by telling us about yourself and getting to know us, too!

I look forward to improving the relationship between the collegiate chapter and alumni.  Thank you and talk to you soon,
